NN Community Investment

NN Community Investment partners and initiatives

With 45 partnerships in the Netherlands and approximately 120 partnerships and initiatives across our other markets, our programme is dedicated to improving the financial, physical and mental well-being of the communities we serve. We collaborate with local partners and offer resources and expertise to assist individuals in achieving their goals while also supporting those who desire to participate in society but face obstacles.

Examples of international partners

  • Junior Achievement Europe is a non-profit organisation that aims to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. NN and JA Europe have a long-standing history of collaboration and together create economic opportunities and facilitate social entrepreneurship. JA Europe has various programmes, and together with NN's volunteers aims to impact the lives of students in the countries where we are active.

One such programme is the Social Innovation Relay (SIR), a global competition that challenges secondary school students to develop an innovative business concept that addresses a social need. SIR provides young people with the hands-on skills and entrepreneurial expertise needed to start a successful career through mentoring by experienced professionals.

  • NN Group supports the Red Cross in their mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found, to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. Its special attention is to those people who are most vulnerable. Through a
Disaster Relief Fund, NN Group contributes to those whose physical and/or mental well-being has been affected by a disaster.

Examples of partners in the Netherlands

  • Oranje Fonds believes that everyone matters. That's why they are committed to a society where no one is left alone and everyone can participate. Together we founded the Together Against Poverty programme, which focuses on strengthening local strategic collaborations that provide a broad, accessible range of financial support to those living in poverty or with problematic debt.
  • JINC is a Dutch non-profit organisation that supports youth aged from 8 to 16 years of age and helps them prepare for future employment by offering hands-on experience, teaching social skills and arranging enterprise workshops. JINC believes that every child deserves an honest chance in the job market, even if that child has grown up in an environment with fewer opportunities.

JINC and NN Group started their collaboration more than ten years ago on a local level and have grown into strategic partners. JINC uses the NN Innovation method to develop new interventions to add to their learning trajectory.

  • The goal of Global Money Week is to teach children and youth about money, saving, creating livelihoods, gaining employment and becoming an entrepreneur through fun and interactive activities. Events are organised by schools, government ministries, financial institutions, members of the civil society and youth worldwide. This Money Wise initiative
promotes financial empowerment amongst the youngest of society. Each year, NN volunteers provide guest lessons at elementary schools about money and insurance.
  • Young Impact is a Dutch non-profit organisation that helps young people improve the world in a way that suits them. They travel throughout the Netherlands to encourage young people to take action on issues such as climate, society, diversity, equal opportunities and health. This is done through programmess at schools and events such as Young Impact Day and the Young Impact Awards.

Young Impact inspires and motivates young people to do good for society and has a network of 75 local foundations. They have organised over 15,000 actions to date.

  • Stichting Present Nederland is a Dutch non-profit organisation that connects people who need help with those who can offer it. Because they believe that people are generally willing to contribute to others and society, Stichting Present Nederland aims to bridge
the gap between this willingness and taking action. To date, they have a network of 75 local foundations that organise thousands of projects annually, benefiting over 65,000 people. In addition to their work with local foundations, they also support care providers by organizing projects targeting different groups, such as those in elderly homes.
  • SchuldenlabNL is a Dutch independent foundation with the mission of making the Netherlands free of debt care. In their vision, they achieve this by scaling up (local) proven and effective projects and programmes that focus on preventing and combating (problematic) debt. This prevents fragmentation of initiatives in the field of poverty and debt.
