1939 advertising film from De Nederlanden van 1845

Julius Pinschewer (1883-1961) was a famous film pioneer in the first half of the 19th century, specialising in advertising films and animations. He made thousands of films for German companies, and also for De Nederlanden van 1845, one of the predecessors of NN Group.

This advertising film 'In Holland staat een huis’ (‘There is a house in Holland’) was made in 1939, and used as a commercial break in cinemas. The film shows a family who were unpleasantly surprised during the night by a fire in their house. Fortunately the fire brigade was there to help, and they had a fire insurance policy with De Nederlanden van 1845. This helped the family with a new house.

The film title refers to a famous Dutch children’s song which plays during the film.
