On Sunday 7 December, people of all ages in Santa Claus costumes met in the centre of Athens for an event across big metropolitan cities worldwide. The event in Greece was supported by NN Group and donations raised will help the local community.
Hundreds of Santas took part in this event - a symbolic race without timing, and spread a festive feeling throughout the streets of the Greek capital. Despite the fact that this was the first time the event took place in Athens, the response was fantastic.
ING Greece supported the first Athens’ Santa Run under its Corporate Responsibility program called “Live Responsibly.” The proceeds of the event will be given to the Municipality of Athens for restoring the city’s playgrounds. Furthermore, this event is fully aligned with the ING Live Well philosophy, which promotes physical exercise and a balanced way of life as a means to maintaining good health.
